静岡市清水区蒲原にある老舗のパン屋「清美軒」が大好きです。
清美軒は、新蒲原駅から徒歩3〜5分ほどの場所にあり、旧東海道の蒲原宿の宿場の中心地に位置しています。
旧東海道を挟んだ向かいには、登録有形文化財の旅籠跡である和泉屋とお休み処があり、数件先には、本陣跡の立派な黒塀もあります。
そんな旧東海道の伝統的なまちなみが残る通り沿いに立つ、「焼きたてのパン」の赤い旗が目印です。

Seibiken is located about a 3 to 5-minute walk from Shin-Kambara Station, right in the heart of the old Kambara-juku post town along the historic Tokaido Road.
Across the street, you’ll find Izumiya, a registered tangible cultural property which was a hotel in Samurai era, along with a small rest area. Few doors down to the west, impressive black wooden fences marking the site of the former Honjin, the main lodging for high-ranking travelers in the Edo period.
Amidst this traditional streetscape of old Tokaido, there’s a red flag that reads “Freshly Baked Bread”—that’s the sign of Seibiken.

長年パンを作り続けてきた清美軒は、かつて地域の学校給食のパンを製造していたそう。
現在も病院の売店や地域の商店にパンを卸したりもしています。
燕之宿からも徒歩4分ほどの距離にあるため、宿に滞在しているゲストの皆さんは、ちょっとした散歩を兼ねてパンを買いに訪れます。
Seibiken has been baking bread for generations and was once a supplier of school lunch bread for the local schools.
Even today, they continue to provide bread to hospital shops and small local stores.
Since it’s only about a 4-minute walk from Tsubamenoyado, many guests staying at the hostel enjoy taking a leisurely stroll to pick up some fresh bread during their stay.

パン屋さんは朝が早いですが、通り沿いには早朝からパンの焼ける香りが漂います。
お店が開くのは朝7時半ごろから。
人気のパンは早く売り切れてしまうことが多いため、午前中に訪れるのがおすすめです。
僕のお気に入りは「カツサンド」と「ピーナツバターパン」「バケット」。
可愛い名前の「ポコポコパン」「リッチパン」などは、子ども達にも親しまれています。
清美軒からすぐの八坂神社と御殿山のさくらまつりの時期には、期間限定で「桜あんぱん」が販売されますが、大変人気ですぐに売り切れるので要注意です。
また、焼き菓子の「サクリスタン」は絶品で、バターとシュガーが口の中に広がり、サクッとした食感が大好きです。おやつはもちろん家族や友人へのちょっとした手土産にぴったりです。
From the early morning hours, the delightful scent of freshly baked bread drifts along the street.
Seibiken opens around 7:30 AM. Popular breads often sell out quickly, it’s best to visit in the morning time.
My personal favorites are the “Katsu Sandwich”(pork cutlet), Peanut Butter Bread, and Baguette.
They also have uniquely named breads like “Poco Poco Bread” and “Rich Bread”, which are kids favorites.
During the Sakura (cherry blossoms) Festival, Seibiken provides a limited-edition “Sakura Anpan” (Cherry Blossom Sweet Bean Bun).
It’s incredibly popular and sells out fast, so be sure to grab one while you can!
Another must-try is the Sacristan, a delightful pastry with a crispy texture and a rich blend of butter and sugar that melts in your mouth.
It’s perfect not only as a treat for yourself but also as a thoughtful gift for family and friends.
温かいお店の方々とまちなみへの想い
Warm Hospitality and a Deep Love for the Town
優しくて気さくなおばちゃんとお姉さんがいつも笑顔で迎えてくれます。
外国人のゲストが買い物に行って言葉が分からなくても優しく接してくださります。
聞いたお話ですが、以前清美軒がお店を改装する時に、旧東海道の宿場通りや町屋の多い地域の景観に沿うように外観をデザインして今のお店になっているそうです。
地域の歴史や風景を大切にしながら営業を続ける、愛すべきパン屋さんです。
今どきの華やかで創作の惣菜パンがたくさん並ぶお店ではなく、まちや趣のある東海道と一緒に時間を経たお店であり、店構えやお店の方から蒲原への愛着を感じることでしょう。
The friendly and welcoming ladies at Seibiken always greet customers with warm smiles.
Even if foreign visitors don’t speak the language, they are met with kindness and patience.
I heard that when Seibiken renovated its storefront, they carefully designed the exterior to match the historic atmosphere of the old Tokaido post town, preserving the traditional townscape of Kambara.
Seibiken isn’t a trendy bakery filled with flashy, modern creations.
Instead, it’s a charming, time-honored bakery that exists in harmony with the history and character of the Tokaido.
Both the building and the people running it reflect a deep affection for Kambara.
地域の人々に愛され続ける「整備軒」。
旧東海道の蒲原宿の散策の途中に、ぜひ立ち寄ってみてください。
まちへの愛着を感じながら、近くの八坂神社の境内で昔ながらのパンを頬張ってみても良いかもしれません。
